Saudi Arabian government has recently decided to provide tourist visa from the embassies abroad, with a condition that visas can be obtained only through Saudi Arabian Airlines or any locally recognized ground handling tour agent. This requires to be sponsored by your agent in Saudi Arabia, and an advance arrangement should be done. Haj and Umrah visas are available for Muslims and can be obtained directly from the embassies.

Saudi Arabia is not a cheap place, but it's possible to travel relatively inexpensively if you put your mind to it. If you're on a rock-bottom budget, expect to spend around US$25 a day. If you'd prefer a little comfort, double that amount. If you want luxury, double it again.
